Figure Now Builds One Humanoid Robot Per Hour: The Leap to Mass Production

16 junio, 2026 · WEB MUSICA · 1 min lectura

US company Figure AI has reached a milestone that seemed distant just a few months ago: its BotQ plant now assembles one humanoid robot every hour, up from the single unit per day it managed at the start of the year. Here we look at how the team multiplied its capacity by 24 and why this leap marks a turning point for industrial robotics.

From prototype to a real production line

What used to be a near-handcrafted build shop has turned into a high-volume factory. In under 120 days, Figure went from putting together one Figure 03 per day to one per hour, an acceleration few companies in the sector have pulled off. As of its report dated late April 2026, the firm had already delivered more than 350 units of its third-generation humanoid, a figure that confirms the purely experimental phase is behind it.

Quality measured at every step

The real challenge in building robots is not speed but holding consistency. To achieve it, the plant runs more than 150 networked workstations and custom-built manufacturing software. Each robot goes through over 80 functional verification tests and clears more than fifty inspection points before getting the green light. End-of-line first-pass yield tops 80% and improves every week, while the battery line reaches a remarkable 99.3%, with more than 500 packs already shipped.

Hardware and brains in step

The progress is not only mechanical. Figure produced more than 9,000 actuators across over ten distinct variants: the joints that give the robot its movement. In parallel, its Helix artificial intelligence model receives ever more data from the deployed fleet, letting it learn from real situations. On top of that sits a whole-body control system able to read its surroundings to climb stairs and move across complex terrain, tasks that until recently belonged solely to the lab.

Why it matters

A humanoid moving into serial production suggests these systems will stop being a curiosity and start integrating into factories, warehouses and, eventually, homes. Production pace will decide who leads a market that is only beginning to take shape, and cases like this show that advanced robotics has already entered its scaling stage.
