The quartet that shaped several generations —Álvaro Henríquez, Ángel Parra, Roberto «Titae» Lindl and Francisco «Pancho» Molina— traveled to London to track the record at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. That choice is no small detail: the band set out to capture a live sound, with acoustic and electric guitars, bass and drums sharing the same room, free of artifice. The result, released through Universal Music Chile, breathes the chemistry of four musicians who have understood one another for decades.

Eleven songs with a darker tone

Under the title XCLNT —read as «excelente» (excellent)— the album gathers eleven compositions that move through melancholy, romance and a critical view of reality. Tracks such as «Cantar y amar», «La vida al revés», «Como llegaste te vas» and «Vendaval de otoño» reveal a group that isn’t trying to repeat old formulas, but rather to reconnect with its identity from a more reflective and, at times, more somber place.

The return of the lineup that started it all

The reunion of the four historic members was confirmed in late 2023 and led to a tour across Chile and Mexico. The album’s first previews —including «Cantar y amar», «Como llegaste te vas» and «INRI»— arrived with music videos produced alongside Punkrobot, the Chilean animation studio that won an Oscar for the short film Bear Story. That alliance between music and local animation reinforces the cultural-milestone feel surrounding this release.
